YEAR SIX

2011 is when we brought The Mad Scientist to the next level. Nic and I had enough content in the film to build our first trailer. The purpose of this trailer was essentially to attract a crew that would remain stable for the duration of the production. My primary target was Travis Becker.

It worked exactly as I hoped.

I showed the trailer publicly at an event called Portland Organic Wrestling organized by Seantos McDonald and Jeffery Wonderful. When asked to participate I insisted on portraying Neil Stryker as an excuse to plug the project and the trailer. Travis saw the trailer that night and was impressed. Ironically, it was the library scene shots that really impressed him and got us talking further about what was needed to finish the film.

After that, Travis became one of the three top billed producers for the film including Nic Costa and myself. This was all loosely established by the end of 2010.

It was on a shoot for a film Travis was directing that I met Brett Roberts who agreed to be my director of photography for the remainder of the film. Things were coming together. The new year started and we began to shoot scenes more consistently w/ Brett on camera and Travis providing a grip and electric infrastructure. The bar was raised and it was time to tackle some of the more difficult scenes in the movie. Brett connected us with a stunt coordinator and we laid out plans to shoot two of the big action scenes in the movie.
